Unlike a LinkedIn review or a public recommendation, a contact's private reputation (reliability, punctuality, communication, quality of work) is never visible to the person concerned. That changes everything: you can be honest without risking hurting someone or damaging a relationship over an overly frank rating.
Rate after a real collaboration, not a first impression
A first impression isn't proof of reliability. Wait until you've actually worked with someone, on a real project or mission, before rating their reputation: that's what makes the rating useful later, when you're wondering whether you can count on this person.
